Champions Awards Banquet

Well, it has been a terrific season. I could not have been more proud of a team in all my years of coaching. Fabulous performances at state.

I will forward more details later, but just know that I was happy about each and every one of you. State Champions again. Lets keep the streak alive for next season!!!

I am POSTPONING the team party because we can not be ready by Tuesday. I am sorry to any who have made plans for Tuesday and cancelled other things. Please do not show up for a team party Tuesday night. I’ll let you all know when.

Fifth Graders and below have practice this week at 4:30-6:00 on Monday and Wednesday for their state tournament in AF this weekend. Also Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30. Weigh ins are Thursday night during practice.

Older kids who still want to train are welcome to those practices.

PS: Trey is fine now. Concussion only. Daniel Johnson broke his arm but is in good spirits. Tough kids through and through!

In particular, thank you to the coaching staff and parents. You are the best!

Iowa vs. UVU Wrestling Tickets

Wrestling fans,

If you want to purchase Iowa vs UVU wrestling tickets for the match in Vernal Saturday, February 6, you will need to contact Lisha Hacking at 435-781-3110 ext. 2611.

The tickets are $10. It is Iowa’s home meet so there are not free passes for UVU season ticket holders.

Iowa is ranked #1 in the country again this year after winning the past two NCAA Championships. They are competing at Uintah High School to give hometown fans an opportunity to watch their own 2x All-American Phillip Keddy in action.

Here we go with the last week of JH wrestling.

First congratulations, on last weekend. We won the overall tournament, won first place in the 15 and under and won first place in the 12 and under division. That was wonderful. Thanks to all the families who supported this.

Today regular and hard practice.

Tomorrow regular practice time with some fun extras. I will need a TV if a family wants to bring one in on a stand for me. Email if you can.

Wednesday practice regular times.

REMEMBER TO REGISTER FOR STATE ONLINE!

Thursday night weigh in practice. Last minute questions about technique and making weight.

Friday car pools will need to be scheduled again personally with other team mates since this is an overnight trip.

Remember that 5th graders will have another state tournament the following week at American Fork.

Remember that the next phase of wrestling will start the third week of February for all those interested.

Remember that our tentative plan for a Team Award’s Banquet is Tuesday February 2nd.
