This Week’s Wrestling Schedule

District Wrestle till you drop on Tuesday at Spanish Fork Junior High School (not HS).

Start Time is 5:30. 5/6th graders not invited again. Sorry. No cost. No practice that day.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday normal practice.

Weigh in for Wasatch Tournament on Thursday or Friday. They changed their tournament to a non internet registration so I will need to weigh in each wrestler and email them in. So don’t show up on Saturday if you haven’t weighed in.

You will need to bring the $10.00 and pay when you check in at the tournament. There are still a few of you who have not paid my for Delta or for South Summit. Remember that I am paying for you guys out of my pocket for those tournaments if you forget to bring you money. If money is an issue, please talk to me. This Wasatch tournament will be pre-weigh, but you will pay when you check in at the door. So this week DON’T pay me. Just pay them.

Wow – Dominance

Another incredible weekend of wrestling. Another first place trophy. More champions. Amazing. In years past, I keep thinking that we can’t keep this up. I can say that this team is my most dominant team ever. I was particularly impressed with four or five finals matches that were classic come from behind wins in the last seconds. Poise and Focus were the descriptive words that day. We wrestled five dual meets and we didn’t lose more than 3 out of 21 matches in any one dual meet. That included Box Elder in the finals. Amazing. We had 11 of our 21 weights go undefeated!!! Wow.

Congratulations on another great tournament Saturday. I want to express my appreciation to all the coaches who were there to support the team in my absence. Here is what is up for the next two weeks.

We have practice today and tomorrow at the normal times.

Wednesday morning from 7:00 to 8:30 we will have a regular practice. Instead of just a run. The Wednesday practice is optional.

This week we will be doing challenge matches today and tomorrow for the South Summit tournament. The information is as follows:

Saturday January 2nd. Meet at 5:20 AM, leave at 5:30 AM. Weigh ins at South Summit at 7:00 AM. This is the first same day weigh in tournament we have had this year. $10.00 per boy. Bring the cash that morning. Plan on all day.

65, 70, 73, 76, 80, 84, 88, 92, 96, 100, 105, 112, 116, 120, 128, 135, 145, 155, 165, 185, HWT 275.

We are taking one varsity team and supplementing Spanish Fork’s team where they have holes. We can take a few extras so even if you don’t make varsity for this tournament and want to go, please let me know!

The following week, we have club practice on Wednesday night the 30th, Thursday the 31st and Friday January 1st. These are all club practices and are not mandatory. I do expect that if you are going to South Summit, that you come to most of these optional practices.
